At midnight, Hungary will close the green border with Croatia. This means that the refugees and migrants entering Croatia from Serbia en route to Germany will no longer be able to cross Hungary. Refugees consider both Croatia and Hungary transit countries and do not intend to stay in either one of them. This decision by Hungary, after a month of successful cooperation in the field, will not alleviate the pressure of the refugee wave on Europe. Europe can deal with the crisis only through joint efforts and cooperation among all of the member states as well as the neighbours. We believe that Hungary’s decision will only make managing the refugee crisis in Europe more difficult.
