Assistant FM Marušić meets Baden-Württemberg parliamentary delegation

Assistant Foreign Minister Hrvoje Marušić received a parliamentary delegation from Baden-Württemberg, led by Standing Committee Chairman Stefan Scheffold.

Marušić presented the achievements and experiences from the first two years of Croatia’s EU membership, as well as the priorities for the coming period. He expressed satisfaction over the fact that cooperation with from Baden-Württemberg had recently further intensified.

Commenting on the activities of the Croatia-Baden-Württemberg Mixed Commission, whose eighth session was held in April in Konstanz, Marušić underlined the areas of economy, education, culture and internal affairs as particularly important for the Commission. “Education is key for higher productivity, added value in society and an efficient public administration, while minority integration and health tourism area future areas of cooperation,” Marušić said. He added that expanding cooperation onto the regional level as well as the EUSDR further strengthened the existing projects and goals of the Commission.

The interlocutors agreed on the importance of measures for economic growth and opening jobs, as well as the EU internal market as the only possible response to global economic challenges.

Accompanying Baden-Württemberg parliamentary delegation was Minister in the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry Silke Krebs.
