The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs 25 and 26 May in Zagreb is organizing the Second Conference of Croatian Honorary Consuls. Some 40 honorary consuls from around the globe are expected to attend. The main theme of the conference will be the intensification of the honorary consuls’ activities in promoting Croatia’s export and attracting foreign investments.
During the two-day stay in Croatia, the honorary consuls will meet with the top state officials and representatives of relevant economic institutions and business associations. The consuls are also to attend an investment conference organized by the Croatian government at the Westin Hostel. In the evening, together with the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Croatian Employers Association, a reception will be organized with head of 50 or so leading Croatian exporting companies. On the second day of the conference, presentations will be held on Croatia’s export and tourist potentials.
Honorary consuls are an important part of Croatia’s foreign affairs service. There are currently 93 of them.
