IAEA director general on visit to Croatia

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano was on a working visit to Croatia 18 and 19 May, organized by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano was on a working visit to Croatia 18 and 19 May, organized by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The visit confirmed Croatia’s longstanding cooperation with the IAEA and saw talks on the upcoming IAEA-assisted projects in Croatia.

During a working lunch with Deputy FM Joško Klisović, Amano described the relations between Croatia and the IAEA as successful. The two officials expressed interest in strengthening the cooperation and discussed the international community’s activities concerning the Iranian nuclear program. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović

Amano was also received by President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Health Minister Siniša Varga, Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak, Agriculture Minister Tihomir Jakovina, and Deputy Minister of Science, Education and Sports Roko Andričević.

The IAEA director general also visited the Sisters of Charity University Hospital and the Ruđer Bošković Institute, since various Croatian institutions are involved in numerous successful projects backed by the IAEA, notably in the fields of medicine, science and agriculture.
