First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić 8 April is to meet with First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaci.

The European prospect of the countries in the region is a guarantee of stability and security of the entire Southeast Europe. Croatia strongly supports the EU integration processes in the region, and the signing of the European Partnership Agreement between Croatia and Kosovo contributes to that process. The opening of the EU-Kosovo SAA negotiations intensified the cooperation in the transfer of experiences and know-how gained during the negotiating process. Since last May, five seminars have been held on different chapters, attended by civil and public servants.

Croatia and Kosovo have no outstanding issues. In terms of economic relations, there is room for improvement in trade, investment, transport, energy networking and construction. Trade has grown by 25% in the last three years, while Croatia’s export is consistently on the rise.

Kosovo is home to a small Croatian community, which has decreased from 12,000 in the 1990s to less than 300 in Janjevo, 30 or so in Letnica and another 40 or so in the neighbouring villages.
