Deputy Minister Klisović opens honorary consulates in Malmö, Gothenburg

Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović paid a visit to Sweden 3 and 4 November, during which he opened honorary consulates in Malmö and Gothenburg

Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović paid a visit to Sweden 3 and 4 November, during which he opened honorary consulates in Malmö and Gothenburg, which will play an important role in further strengthening the two countries’ economic cooperation. Klisović underlined the existent friendly and partner relations with Sweden, adding that the two countries had well-developed economic relations revolving around shipbuilding, railway sector, energy, timber industry, sports and culture. The number of Swedish tourists visiting Croatia is also rising.

Klisović also held political consultations with State Secretary for International and EU Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office Hans Dahlgren, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Annika Söder, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Policy Kenneth G. Forslund, and Country Head of Västra Götaland and Bohuslän.

The visit also saw talks with representatives of the leading Swedish companies from the IT and communications sector (Mobile Heights), health (Sahlgrenska University and AstraZeneca), shipbuilding (STENA) and construction (Tuve Bygg), as well as with representatives of the Chamber of Economy and southern Sweden’s industry. The interlocutors discussed the past cooperation in said areas and the prospects of launching new joint projects.
