Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Dubravka Plejić Marković is attending the Conference on Afghanistan, held 3 and 4 December 2014 in London. The main topic is the cooperation between the UK, Afghanistan, other countries, international organizations, civil society and private sector in creating a stable and prosperous Afghanistan.
The conference is envisioned as a follow-up to the Tokyo Framework on shared accountability of the Afghan government and the international community for the economic growth and development of Afghanistan. Croatia will carry on with its development cooperation in the 2015-17 period, in accordance with the experiences and know-how gathered during the previous years. “We want to focus development cooperation on four priority areas: state building through the training of the Afghan police, girls’ education, reproductive health and economic empowerment of women. Special attention will be paid to strengthening the intercultural dialogue and promoting tolerance,” Plejić Marković said.
The newly-elected president Ashraf Ghani is expected to outline his vision of the reform and progress in future Afghanistan.
