Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 26 November received on inaugural visit the first Irish ambassador to Croatia residing in Zagreb, Timothy Harrington. The two officials underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, notably in regard to economy, culture and tourism. Cooperation within the EU was also highlighted as a priority area. Klisović and Harrington discussed the current international topics and crisis points, notably the issue of Palestine’s recognition and security challenges in the Middle East.
Klisović also met with the new Turkish ambassador Ahmet Tuta, with whom he discussed Croatia and Turkey’s bilateral relations as well as the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the election. The two officials stressed the importance of the British-German initiative for a European future of BiH. They also recalled the recently-held political consultations in Ankara.
