Deputy Minister Joško Klisović is attending the third International Invest Forum “We Offer Possibilities” held in Opatija. At a panel discussion on “Investment Stimulation Measures”, Klisović talked about the role of economic diplomacy in stimulating investments, saying that the diplomatic network was trying to drum up foreign investors’ interest, while our diplomats familiarize potential investors with the government’s measures aimed at improving the business climate and help organize conferences and promotional events. The diplomatic network is also tasked with finding ways to incorporate what Croatia offers investment-wise into the development plans of the countries with Croatia’s diplomatic presentations, as well as their top companies. The MFEA is also monitoring and supporting Croatia’s investments abroad, notably in Southeast Europe and the Middle East. The economic diplomacy is working to attract investments in specific investment projects, defined and developed by the partner Investment and Competitiveness Agency (AIK), as well as other relevant state administration bodies.
Given the special importance of foreign investments in export-oriented production, the MFEA is developing active partnership with such foreign investors, notably those that significantly contribute to the employment of Croatian citizens and use Croatian raw materials in production. The ministry is also offering assistance in resolving their outstanding issues arisen from, for instance, lengthy administrative procedures.
The International Invest Forum is organized by the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the City of Rijeka, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy as a partner country, the City of Opatija and AIK, under the auspices of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship. The forum presented development potentials of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Rijeka and Opatija, as well as other investment projects of state and local interest.
