On the fringes of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić held talks with Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop.
Pusić outlined to her counterpart the system of Croatia’s development aid as well as the activities of the Centre of Excellence, inviting Diop to visit Croatia.
The Malian minister discussed the situation in his country after a ceasefire has been reached in July 2014 as well as plans to decentralize Mali. Thanking Croatia for supporting the integrity of his country, Diop expressed interest in strengthening the two countries’ cooperation, notably through programmes run by the Centre of Excellence targeted at post-conflict societies, specifically in the segment of refugee and displaced persons return. Mali is also interested in Croatia’s mine clearance experiences and equipment.
