Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Hrvoje Marušić received an Italian delegation led by Franco Iacop, President of the Regional Council of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region.
The officials discussed the prospect of further strengthening and deepening the economic cooperation between Croatia and the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region as well as considered the possibility of mutual support and coordination in using EU funds, with an emphasis on cross-border and transnational cooperation. Marušić presented the government’s measures for stimulating economic recovery and stressed their importance in creating a safer, simpler and more predictable legal framework aimed at attracting investors. He informed the Italian delegation about positive economic trends such as the increase in industrial production and export, adding that the key to economic growth, employment and investment also laid in financing from the 2014-2020 EU funds.
