First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić is attending a meeting of the Friends of Moldova Group, held today in the capital of Kishinev. Apart from Pusić, the meeting is also being attended by nine EU foreign ministers: Italian FM and new High Representative Federica Mogherini, as well as foreign ministers of Luxembourg, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Poland, Slovakia and Malta.

The Friends of Moldova Group is an informal group assisting Moldova in European activities, prospects and dialogue founded on the fringes of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting held in January 2010 on the initiative of Romania and backed by France.

Today’s meeting is focusing on the implementation of AA/DCFTA (Association Agreement and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement), which Moldova signed on the sidelines of the European Council meeting end-June.

Croatia plans to ratify the agreement late-September/early-October.

Pusić is also to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, as well as meet together with the other ministers with President Timofti and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman.
