First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić 24 July received the outgoing ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Stella Ronner-Grubačić.
Pusić expressed condolences over the shooting down of a plane in Ukraine, in which 193 Dutch citizens had died. Both agreed that the transport of mortal remains to the Netherlands was a priority, followed by an investigation under the UN Security Council Resolution 2166. Croatia supports the Netherlands’ leading role in the investigation. Both sides applauded the cooperation on the part of the Ukrainian authorities following the tragedy.
Expressing gratitude for the Dutch foreign minister’s participation in the recently held Croatia Forum, Pusić underlined the importance of the Netherlands’ support to the EU enlargement.
