MFEA presents results of first six months of economic diplomacy policy

(Hina) - The project of economic diplomacy, which the Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Ministry launched last October to help Croatian exporters and foreign companies doing business in Croatia, has yielded palpable and clear results and guidelines after its first six months, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusić said in Zagreb on Friday.

She, however, acknowledged that the frequent changing of laws and taxation legislation were not good.

"We need stable conditions and lower taxes," said Pusić, who is also the First Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Foreign Minister Joško Klisović said since its launch the economic diplomacy policy had been aimed primarily at attracting investments in Croatia and supporting Croatian companies entering foreign markets.

"In the first six months we offered 1,532 services to Croatian companies and created 92 export opportunities for 872 exporters," Klisović said.

According to him, Croatia's exports jumped 21% in January.
