“You have a beautiful country and everything the world wants,” said Pinera, welcoming First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusić, who travelled to Chile to attend the inauguration of President-Elect Michelle Bachelet.
Pusić said that the Croatian community in Chile was held in high esteem, adding that there had to be some similarities between our countries because we feel “at home” when we come to Chile.
Pinera wanted to know about Chilean investments in Croatia. Pusić informed him about investments of well-known Chileans of Croat descent, such as the Lukšić family, notably in tourism sector. Pinera was also interested in the situation in Southeast Europe as well as Croatia’s role in the European prospect of the countries in the region.
