Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 10 March met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Yee, who was on an official visit to Zagreb. The two officials discussed the current political and security situation in Ukraine as well as the international community’s steps to resolve the crisis peacefully and preserve Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including the OSCE observation mission.
Klisović and Yee also talked about the state of affairs in Southeast Europe, particularly Bosnia and Herzegovina. They agreed that the EU and US had to join their efforts to make BiH a stable and functional country progressing towards Euro-Atlantic integration, with Yee praising Croatia’s constructive policy to that end. The two officials also reviewed relations with Serbia, hopeful that the upcoming elections would result in better conditions for resolving the rest of the outstanding issues between Croatia and Serbia.
