Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 18 November in Brussels attended a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council

Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 18 November in Brussels attended a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council. The meeting discussed several topics: preparations for the upcoming Eastern partnership Summit in Vilnius, situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the issue of Mediterranean migration, humanitarian crisis in Syria, as well as political and security situation in Libya.

The ministers underlined the importance of meeting all of the criteria for signing the Association Agreement with Ukraine, expressing supporting for the European Parliament’s monitoring mission. The Council passed conclusions which condemn the violence that took place in Tripoli 15 November, express concern over the political, economic, security and humanitarian situation in Libya as well as over the continued humanitarian crisis in Syria, particularly in view of the coming winter and health risks.  

Klisović strongly advocated Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path, whereby the role of the EU is to ensure “more Europe in BiH and more BiH in Europe”. Bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to the EU is a goal we need to dedicate to, said Klisović, calling for the EU to show more understanding, support and flexibility. He said that the European path of BiH supposed in the first place equality among all three constitutive nations and the rest of BiH citizens.
