Croatia-Korea Business Forum discusses two countries’ economic cooperation

Organised by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Korean Embassy to Croatia and the Agency for Investments and Competitiveness, the Croatia-Korea Business Forum was held 29 October

Organised by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Korean Embassy to Croatia Croatia-Korea Business Forum and the Agency for Investments and Competitiveness, the Croatia-Korea Business Forum was held 29 October. It was opened by Deputy Foreign and European Affairs Minister Joško Klisović and Korean Ambassador to Croatia Suh Hyung-won, both expressing belief that Croatian-Korean economic relations would gain momentum in the coming period, as Croatia is now a member of the EU, which has a Free Trade Agreement with Korea concluded prior to Croatia's accession, now undergoing expansion to be valid for Croatia too.

The forum also discussed important Croatian projects in areas of energy, port development and railways, and the Croatian government’s plan for tapping into the EU funds was presented. The forum drew 30-odd representatives of Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics, Daewoo International, Doosan Heavy Industries and Hyundai Engineering. The second part of the forum saw dozens of meetings between representatives of Croatian and Korean companies, at which cooperation in trade and investments was discussed in detail.
