First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić sent a letter of condolences to her Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski over the death of Tadeusz Mazowiecki

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić sent a letter of condolences to her Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski over the death of Tadeusz Mazowiecki.

Expressing sympathies on behalf of the ministry and herself, Pusić said that Mazowiecki would be remembered as “a great politician with strong moral principles”, recalling his immeasurable contribution at the last year’s conference on the occasion of Croatia’s 20th UN membership and international recognition anniversary.

Tadeusz Mazowiecki was the first prime minister of post-communist Poland and played an important role during the Yugoslav wars, when he was appointed UN human rights envoy for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
