Inaugural session of Government's Commission for Internationalisation of Croatia's Economy

The inaugural session of the Government's Commission for the Internationalisation of Croatia's Economy was held in the government headquarters on Tuesday, 22 October

The inaugural session of the Government's Commission for the Internationalisation of Croatia's Economy was held in the government headquarters on Tuesday, 22 October. Formed at the direct request of Croatian exporters, the Commission brings together all export-relevant state administration bodies and business associations – Croatian Exporters, Croatian Chamber of Economy, Croatian Employers’ Association, Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, Croatian National Bank and the Institute of Economics – all who can contribute to defining clear and ambitious guidelines of support for Croatia’s export. The session was chaired by the Commission’s coordinator and Deputy Foreign and European Affairs Minister Joško Klisović.

The government set up the Commission as a central body for the realisation of three tasks aimed at economic recovery: drawing up and implementing measures of supporting exports in all stages of the export process – both at home and abroad, directing foreign investments into export-oriented production and coordinating activities aimed at promoting Croatia's economy abroad. The Commission will be a venue for exporters to present their demands and where they together with the relevant ministries will define programmes and monitor their implementation.

The inaugural session saw the adoption of the flow chart of the Action Plan which will contain measures aimed at supporting exports, proposed by the members of the Commission. The participants also agreed on the ways to follow the drawing up and implementation of strategic documents such as the Industrialization Strategy and Investment Stimulation Strategy, as well as the integration of investment support guidelines into long-term state development plans. The participants aligned their activities aimed at promoting Croatia’s economy at home and abroad for this year and began to draft the plan of joint activities for 2014.
