By advocating LGBT rights we fight discrimination in general

“This is a human right whose violation is most tolerated in a society. Therefore, by advocating the rights of this community, we advocate the respect for human rights and the fight against discrimination in general,” said Minister Pusić

“This is a human right whose violation is most tolerated in a society. Therefore, by advocating the rights of this community, we advocate the respect for human rights and the fight against discrimination in general,” said Minister Pusić after signing a joint statement on the fight against homophobia and transphobia with her Montenegrin counterpart Igor Luksić on the sidelines of Croatia Forum in Dubrovnik. "We also advocate setting a limit to which the state can venture into an individual's private sphere, to which the state can be allowed to decide for the individual. By fighting for LGBT rights we are fighting against discrimination of any kind and showing that we don't want societies which discriminate against their members because of lifestyle, nation, race, colour, sex, age or regional belonging,” said Pusić.

Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Lukšić said that by signing the joint statement, the two countries pledge to cooperate and jointly promote human rights, concretely the rights of LGBT community, which means promoting the obligations of any modern European society. “This statement has a concrete and ambitious goal, and that is to encourage all those fighting for the rights of this community to persevere, while the state pledges in a way to support them in their struggle.”
