Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 9 September received an economic delegation from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 9 September received an economic delegation from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, led by President of the Jordan Europe Business Association (JEBA) and Jordan Chamber of Commerce First Deputy Chairman Issa H. Murad and Croatian Honorary Consul to Jordan Abdel Nour.

Klisović said that the two countries had very good bilateral relations and that there was great potential for advancing the economic cooperation in various areas, such as food, pharmaceutical and agricultural industry. He expressed satisfaction that a strong economic delegation was visiting Croatia, composed of businessmen from sectors in which the Croatia-Jordan cooperation could be further expanded.

Murad agreed that there was untapped economic potential between the two countries and underlined the necessity of opening a shipping route between the ports of Aqaba and Rijeka as Croatia, due to its closeness, security and other advantages could become one of the key transport partners.

The talks also touched on the political and security situation in the Middle East. Klisović said Croatia greatly appreciated Jordan’s efforts to accept refugees from the war-torn Syria.
