Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović 25 April received Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s EU Director Simon Manley, who was on a two-day working visit to Croatia.

Manley expressed satisfaction with the opening of a new chapter in the UK-Croatia relations in the context of advancing cooperation with Croatia as a soon-to-be EU member. Both sides commended the two countries’ cooperation within NATO.

The Croatian side welcomed British assistance to Croatia in terms of professional training to enhance Croatia’s readiness for working in the EU bodies.

The two officials exchanged opinions about the situation in Southeast Europe, extending full support to further reforms and European prospect of all the countries in the region. The British side applauded Croatia’s activities on transferring the EU integration know-how and experience through its Centre of Excellence. Klisović said Croatia intended to use the centre to launch with other EU members states twinning projects towards the region.
