Deputy Minister Klisović receives Finnish foreign minister

Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović received today Foreign Minister of the Republic of Finland Päivi Räsänen

Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović received today Foreign Minister of the Republic of Finland Päivi Räsänen.

The two officials expressed satisfaction with the excellent Croatia-Finland relations and the dynamic cooperation involving as much as 15 twinning projects in various fields, such as judiciary, strengthening of administrative capacities, environmental protection and traffic safety. They were convinced the intensive cooperation would continue within the EU as well.

Klisović informed Räsänen about the European Commission’s positive report on Croatia and the status of the ratification of Croatia’s accession treaty.

Räsänen welcomed Croatia to the EU, adding she saw Croatia as a model for other countries of Southeast Europe. She said Finland was willing to transfer its experience and cooperate with Croatia in civilian crisis management. She outlined the activities of the Finnish Crisis Management Centre, which is in charge of recruiting, training and deploying civilian experts to international operations and missions.
