Assistant Minister Koharović meets in Skopje with SEECP foreign ministers

Assistant Minister for Bilateral Affairs Nebojša Koharović 10 April in Skopje attended an informal meeting of the Southeast European Cooperation Process’ foreign ministers.

The meeting was held as part of Macedonian SEECP presidency and discussed the situation in the region as well as the SEE countries’ progress in European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Representatives of SEECP member states congratulated Croatia on its coming EU entry.  Koharović expressed gratitude for the support during Croatia’s accession process and underlined the importance of continuing the integration processes in the region. He stressed Croatia’s willingness to continue supporting the countries in the region along their European path and share the know-how and experience gained during the negotiations.

The meeting also discussed future forms of cooperation within SEECP as the region’s central political forum and the strengthening of ties with the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) as its operative body. It was said that for the further progress of the region synergy should be achieved between SEECP and RCC and cooperation with the European Commission intensified. Koharović emphasized the need to further strengthen the cooperation among the region’s countries in economic development and security issues.
