New visa regime between Croatia and Russia, Turkey

The Government of the Republic of Croatia at a session held 28 March passed the Regulation on the Amendments to the Visa Regime Regulation that is coming into force on Monday, 1 April 2013.

This finalizes the harmonization of Croatia’s visa regime with that of the EU and fulfils the obligation that no later than three months before the accession (i.e. 1 April 2013) Croatia completely adapt its visa regime.

Added to the list of countries whose citizens require a visa for entering the Republic of Croatia are the Republic of Turkey and the Russian Federation. For more information see visa requirements overview. All questions regarding Croatia’s visa regime can be submitted to vize@mvep.hr

TURKEY – As of 1 April 2013 citizens of the Republic of Croatia require a visa for entering the Republic of Turkey, which can be obtained at border crossings or diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Turkey.

As of 1 April 2013 citizens of the Republic of Turkey, holders of regular passports, require a visa for entering the Republic of Croatia.

RUSSIA – For entering the Republic of Croatia, apart from submitting the application at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Moscow, Russian citizens will also be able to obtain visas through accredited tourist agencies at the embassy, as well as through visa centres in Russia.

Pursuant to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, from 1 January 2013 until the date of accession all aliens holders of valid Schengen documents do not require an additional (Croatian) visa for entering and short-term stay in the Republic of Croatia.
