Region’s stability in Croatia’s immediate and direct interest

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić received delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Parliamentary Assembly’s House of Representatives, headed by its chairman Božo Ljubić, and first and second deputy Denis Bećirević and Milorad Živković. 

Pusić underlined that the stability of the region was in Croatia’s immediate and direct interest, as everything that is going on in the region, and that includes BiH, has an impact on Croatia. She said that “Croatia’s EU accession was also a success for the region as such”, adding that this was a change for the citizens of BiH as the EU was coming to their doorstep. She stressed Croatia’s continued commitment to assisting BiH along its path of Euro-Atlantic integration. 

Ljubić reported on the amendment process to the BiH Constitution in order to ensure the equality of national minorities and constituent nations in all of BiH territory, stressing the importance of institutional equality of Croats. Pusić agreed that the equality of the three constituent nations was crucial for BiH, adding that it was important for Croatia too that Croats stayed in BiH. 

Bećirević and Živković said Croatia was not only a neighbour, but a model for the Euro-Atlantic integration of BiH.
