Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusić met in Cairo with Saudi Arabia's Prince Saud al-Faisal, who is also the county’s minister of foreign affairs. “Faisal is one of the key figures in Saudi Arabia, which itself is one of the key countries in regards to the stability of the Middle East and the South Mediterranean”, Pusić said after the meeting.
“The ongoing meeting of the EU foreign ministers and the Arab League is extremely important because of a possibility for the Syrian opposition to take part in this Cairo gathering”, Pusić said, adding that there was an initiative that at today's meeting the united Syrian opposition now called "the Syrian National Coalition" may represent Syria in the Arab League.
