After the meeting, Pusić said that political cooperation refered to countries in Southeastern Europe and projects in that region. Croatia is also interested in projects in the South Mediterranean and in cooperation with countries undergoing the Arab Spring processes.
As for economic cooperation, focus is being placed on plans for the construction of a liquefied natural gas terminal on the northern Adriatic island of Krk, Pusić said, adding that there is a series of other projects in the energy sector as well as in the food and IT industries which could boost cooperation between Croatia and Qatar. Furthermore, Zagreb University intends to establish a centre for Arabic studies, which is also an area for potential cooperation.
The talks between Pusić and her host also focused on cooperation within humanitarian assistance.
Minister Pusić thanked Al Attiyah for assisting with the opening of a Croatian embassy in Doha, which is the first embassy of her country in a Persian Gulf country.
