We expect a fair evaluation for a fair job, Minister Pusić said in Luxembourg where she is attending a meeting of EU foreign ministers.
Minister Pusić conducted bilateral talks with her German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle as well as German Minister for European Affairs Michael Link regarding Germany's reactions to the European Commission's monitoring report released last week.
"Both undoubtedly confirmed that Germany intends to be fair and that Croatia has made huge progress in reducing 51 tasks to ten and resolving 33 chapters with only four remaining. We now need to work on ten tasks and we are fully aware of this. We are absolutely certain that we are capable of completing them. Some actions are already in motion and we've come up with an action plan for the remaining 10 tasks", she said.
Prior to the meeting of EU foreign ministers on Monday morning, Westerwelle said that Germany wanted to see Croatia as an EU member and that this decision had already been made but that Croatia needed to satisfy all criteria and that the country would not be given any privileges.
Bundestag President Norbert Lammert last week told the German daily "Welt am Sonntag" that he supported halting the EU enlargement process including Croatia's impending accession. Lammert said that based on experiences with Bulgaria and Rumania the latest EC report on Croatia needs to be taken seriously. "Croatia is obviously not ready for accession", he said.
However, the German government on its official Web site on Saturday noted that their government believed Croatia could meet all tasks set on time as defined in the EC monitoring report released October 10th.
