Pusić informed her hosts about Croatia's accession negotiations, “which were long and hard, but help us build our state institutions.” Croatia was the first country to have 35 chapters (31 in the first round), the first to have measures for their opening and closing, and the first to have judiciary as a separate chapter (in which there was no acquis).

Speaking of the situation in the EU and the euro zone, Committee members wanted to know if and when Croatia would introduce the euro. Pusić said that Croatia would do so after meeting the set requirements, adding that "it is important that the country enters the monetary union only when it is fully ready for it.”
