Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić 3 October 2012 received the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Martin Košatka

Košatka pointed out the long-standing excellent relations between Croatia and the Czech Republic, recalling the traditional holding of the Czech Film Week. He said his job would be different from his predecessor’s as Croatia was about to become the 20th EU member county, adding that the Czech Republic was willing to assist us in all the areas, so we could prepare for the membership as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

Pusić informed him about the steps Croatia was taking to complete the accession process, the ratification of the Accession Treaty, and relations with the neighbours. The two officials also discussed the conference organized by Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwartzenberg October 22 and 23 in Prague, which Pusić will attend as well.

Košatka extended condolences over the death of Croatian parliament speaker Boris Šprem.
