The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the good, neighbourly bilateral relations between the two countries. The official stressed the good cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally, particularly within the framework of the UN, and hopes for improved economic cooperation. In the part of their discussion concerning the European Union, Minister Pusić informed Ambassador Knobel about the course of the ratification process of Croatia's Accession Agreement with the EU. The two sides discussed future strengthening of cooperation, since the bilateral agreements between Switzerland and the EU will come into effect in Croatia upon its accession to the EU. They discussed the SEE region and the possibilities of strengthening cooperation in this area, since the stability of this part of the world is among the foreign policy priorities of both countries. Minister Pusić expressed her gratitude for the humanitarian aid Switzerland extended to Croatia during and after the Homeland War.
