The Croatian Festival is part of the Cultural Seasons that France has been organizing since 1985, a concept based on the agreement between the two countries’ governments and aimed at promoting and strengthening cultural cooperation, as well as cooperation in other areas such as science, economy, tourism, sports and education.
The festival will be taking place from September 2012 until January 2013 and will showcase a wide palette of Croatian culture and heritage. Also held will be numerous political and economic gatherings, offering an opportunity for high-level meetings between the two countries.
The director general of Institut Français, the institution in chare of operating the festival, briefed on the end of the activities by the Mixed Croatian-French Committee. A list of over 50 events has been compiled through which Croatia will present itself to the French public in the fall of 2012.
