Pusić attended Chicago NATO Summit

The main topics of the summit were Afghanistan, defence capabilities and partnerships. It planned to adopt four key documents: the final Declaration of the NATO Members’ Heads of State and Government, Declaration on Defence Capabilities, Declaration on the Deterrence and Defence Posture Review, as well as Joint Declaration by NATO/ISAF and Afghanistan.

On Sunday, Pusić attended the Young Atlanticist Summit, the biggest public diplomacy event held on the fringes of the summit, where she spoke about NATO's future activities in the stabilisation of Southeast Europe. She underlined the benefits the countries in the region gained from the reforms they implementing as part of Euro-Atlantic integration processes, voicing hope they would persevere with them.

At a working dinner of NATO foreign ministers, Pusić spoke of the importance of international cooperation in dealing with global security challenges, advocating stronger cooperation between NATO and partner countries. She especially pushed for intensifying practical cooperation with countries that wanted to join the alliance.

On Monday, Pusić attended a meeting of foreign ministers of NATO member countries with ministers of aspiring members - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Georgia, and Macedonia. The meeting discussed the summit’s topics and NATO’s enlargement policy, with Pusić underlining the significance of membership for the stabilisation of the region.
