Also present at the ceremony were Head of Split-Dalmatia County Ante Sanader, Deputy Mayor of Split Anđelka Visković and Head of the European Union’s Delegation to Croatia Paul Vandoren.
The festival is organized by the Split Circle Association and the EU Delegation to Croatia, under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. In cooperation with renowned chefs from Croatia it will showcase national cuisines of all the EU member-countries, including Croatia as the future 28th member.
The festival features some 30 stands offering specialties from all countries of the Union and Croatia, so that the public could get to know all the diversity and richness of Europe’s culinary heritage.
As part of marking Europe Day, 20 odd information stands have been set up in Split’s Republic Square, at which people can pick up publications and informative material published by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, EU Delegation to Croatia and embassies of the EU member-countries.
