Central Europe Day event held in Zagreb’s Cvjetni Square

Attending the ceremony were Deputy Foreign Minister Joško Klisović, Assistant Minister for European Affairs Hrvoje Marušić and head of the European Union’s Delegation to Croatia Paul Vandoren.

The ceremony featured information stands of the Ministry of Foreign and European Integration, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, EU Delegation to Croatia, and embassies of the EU member-countries. At these, people could get information and free informative publications about the EU and the effects of forthcoming membership on their everyday lives.

The programme included a concert by children’s choir Zagrebački mališani (The Zagreb Kids), a kids’ play about the European Union called “Djevojčica i roda” (The Girl and the Stork), and a show by Three Ladies – Maja Vučić, Ivana Radovniković and Branka Delić.

For the 13th year in a row, the Ministry is marking Europe Day with a series of events and activities, in cooperation with the EU Delegation to Croatia and embassies of the EU member-countries.

The purpose of the event is to bring the EU closer to Croatian citizens, and is being marked in towns and counties throughout Croatia.
