The visit was organized pending the commemoration of the Europe Week in Croatia

The visit was organized pending the commemoration of the Europe Week in Croatia, as part of which the Ban Josip Jelačić high school 10 May 2012 will hold an Open Door Day and project curriculum on “Europe – Myth and Reality”.

The students recorded an interview with Pusić, asking questions about the effects of EU membership on Croatian citizens, especially the youth, which will be shown in Zaprešić during the Open Door Day. The students inquired about the possibilities of studying at European universities, work of Croatian scientists in the EU, employment of Croatian citizens in the EU institutions, development of Croatia’s tourism after the entry, as well as stimulating economic activities and competitiveness of Croatian products on the European market.

Pusić applauded the planned activities and voiced full support to the teachers and students of the Ban Josip Jelačić high school in their informing of Croatian citizens about the European Union. She briefed them about the participation of Croatia’s officials as observers in the activities of the EU institutions until Croatia becomes its full-fledged member on 1 July 2013.

She handed the students the Ministry’s publications on the European Union and membership advantages for Croatia.
