The two-day economic forum was organized by the U.S. Embassy to Croatia, Office of the Croatian President, Croatian government, Croatian Chamber of Economy and Croatian Employers’ Association. The forum began with the opening remarks by U.S Ambassador to Croatia James B. Foley and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Radimir Čačić, with a video message from Croatian President Ivo Josipović.

This year’s forum gathered municipal and local government and business leaders from the region and the U.S. to discuss how local entities can promote economic growth and provide support to local businesses and investors.

In her remarks, Pusić said that Croatia’s road to EU membership was also the road of building the state, institutions and procedures. She said the government’s task was to promote the investment climate, pointing out that the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs had already hosted a meeting on visas, work and residence permits in view of the government’s efforts to promote and protect investments in Croatia.
