MFEA hosted 10th meeting of Joint Advisory Committee Croatia-EU

The Joint Committee consists of representatives from the EESC and representatives of Croatia’s employers, syndicates and civil society organizations

The Joint Committee consists of representatives from the EESC and representatives of Croatia’s employers, syndicates and civil society organizations. Also attending the meeting were Labour Minister Mirando Mrsić, Deputy Foreign Minister Joško Klisović, Assistant Foreign Minister Hrvoje Marušić, Danish Ambassador to Croatia Bo Eric Weber, head of the EU Delegation to Croatia Paul Vandoren, and President of Civil Society Development Council Slađana Novota.

A report on the European Social Fund was submitted and Croatia's progress in meeting its commitments was presented, as were activities regarding the ratification of Croatia's EU accession treaty and the expectations as to the course and duration of the process itself.

The task of the Joint Advisory Committee is to strengthen dialogue between EU and Croatian institutions, encourage public debates on the consequences of membership, and contribute to the strengthening of civil society in general. Upon accession, Croatia will have the right to nominate its members to the European Economic and Social Committee.
