This was the first time Croatia was represented as an observer country in the meeting of the Committee of Ministers.
The meeting was chaired by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and focused on the Iranian nuclear program and toughening the sanctions. Also discussed was the situation in Syria, following the report by the Arab League monitoring mission, as well as the situation in Egypt, namely as regards the elections process.
Furthermore, the ministers exchanged views on the Middle East peace process, the latest developments in Myanmar, the situation in Belarus, the Serbia-Kosovo dialogue and the tensions between Sudan and South Sudan.
On the fringes of the meeting, Minister Pusić met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, as well as foreign ministers Giulio Terzi di Sant'Agata of Italy, Edgars Rinkevics of Latvia and Villy Soevndal of Denmark.
