Minister Vesna Pusić received Austrian Ambassador to Croatia Andrea Ikić-Böhm

The officials expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly and excellent relations between Croatia and Austria, both on the political and the economic level. The meeting also discussed the possibilities of advancing the cooperation within the regional initiatives that both countries are members of, especially the EU Danube Region Strategy.

Minister Pusić said she was convinced that Croatia’s joining the EU would open additional potential for the two countries’ cooperation and expressed interest in the transfer of Austria’s experience as regards working within the European institutions.

Ambassador Ikić-Böhm congratulated Minister Pusić on her appointment to the new post, handed the letter of congratulations from Austrian Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger, and invited her to officially visit Austria soon.

She also pointed out the significance of Croatia’s pending EU membership for the rest of the countries of Southeast Europe, adding that Croatia with the reforms it had conducted could serve as an example for all the countries in the region.
