The collocutors described the relations between the Republic of Croatia and the State of Brandenburg as traditionally very good and friendly. Wishing Minister-President Platzeck a happy German Unity Day, Minister Jandroković once again thanked Germany for its active support for Croatia along its road to full-fledged EU membership. He also expressed satisfaction over Platzeck’s visit to Vukovar, during which he handed the donation for demining in the Vukovar-Srijem Country.

The meeting focused on the possibilities of enhancing the economic cooperation between Croatia and Brandenburg. Minister-President Platzeck, who was visiting Croatia together with an economic delegation, said there was wide-spread interest among German businessmen and investors in cooperation with the Croatian partners, especially in the usage of renewable energy sources. In that regard, Minister Jandroković informed him about the Croatian Government’s package of investment projects.

The collocutors agreed that the possibility of enhancing the economic cooperation would further improve once Croatia joined the EU.

In that regard, Minister-President Platzeck offered Croatia Brandenburg’s expert and technical assistance in using the means from the EU funds. He also informed Minister Jandroković about the planned international conference on energy, to be organized by the German Embassy to Croatia and held in May next year in Split.
