The Croatian side once again requested immediate verification of the reports about the alleged arrest of several Croatian citizens in Lybia, which are said to have been members of Gaddafi’s military forces.
The representatives of the Libyan diplomatic mission said they had no official information that there were Croatian citizens among the captured foreigners, but promised to confirm these reports with the relevant bodies of the National Transitional Council as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration would like to reiterate that all the Croatian citizens who had requested assistance have been moved out of Libya as early as February/March this year. Since then, no Croatian citizens or members of their families have contacted the Ministry for assistance, nor have there been any requests for evacuation.
