Croatia welcomes recent developments in Libya

Croatia believes that the Libyan people and their new authorities will recognize the transitional challenges

Croatia believes that the Libyan people and their new authorities will recognize the transitional challenges and ensure social unity and cohesion, along with stimulating reconciliation and preventing retribution, which will enable the building of a prosperous, stable and democratic country that will take its rightful place in the international community, including the relevant international organizations.

Croatia is willing to fully cooperate with the new Libyan authorities and offer assistance in regard to the transition process and economic recovery, namely in terms of development aid and cooperation in all the key areas, such as demining, reconstruction and building of a society in the post-conflict period. In light of the traditionally good economic relations between the two countries, Croatia expects the economic ties with Libya to be renewed soon, respecting the previously assumed obligations.

Croatia shares the position of its international partners that assisting Libya in the political and economic aspect of its pending transition is an obligation of the international community and requires coordinated effort on part of all the relevant factors. As a proven partner of Libya and its people, Croatia will continue to contribute actively and concretely to the efforts in that regard.
