The current situation in South East Europe was discussed in the meeting, with special emphasis on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President and CEO of the International Crisis Group Louise Arbour congratulated the Croatian Government on successfully completed negotiations and reforms implemented during the process. The collocutors agreed that the conclusion of Croatian negotiations represents good news for the Euro-Atlantic perspective of all countries in the region, and encourages further reforms.

Minister Jandroković said that the stability and prosperity of South East European countries is in the strategic interest of the Republic of Croatia, and highlighted the necessity for further enlargement of the European Union to include the countries in the region after the accession of the Republic of Croatia.

Analysing the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the collocutors agreed that the stability and full functionality of the country is of major importance for the entire region. In this regard the equality of the three constituent peoples was highlighted as the prerequisite for the implementation of further reforms. Therefore, Croatia's policy towards the neighbouring country is responsible and constructive, minister Jandroković said. With respect to the role of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he said that Croats can be a catalyst of Euro-Atlantic reforms, for which they have the constant support of the Republic of Croatia.

The conversation also touched on the situation in Kosovo and Serbia, and welcomed the continuing dialogue between the two states in order to reach an agreement on the issues under discussion.
