The collocutors agreed that strategic partnership, as a framework of bilateral cooperation, had allowed for stronger and more intensive bilateral ties between Croatia and France. This was also augmented by the intensive communication between high-level officials in the past period.

Minister Jandroković thanked France for its continuous support for Croatia during the negotiation process, expressing belief that at the pending meeting of the intergovernmental conference France would support the conclusion of Croatia’s negotiations.

He pointed out that meeting all of the criteria was proof of Croatia’s full readiness to join the EU, which has been confirmed by the European Commission as well.

Advisor Levitte praised the numerous reforms that Croatia had conducted thus far and expressed full support for the closing of the negotiations as soon as possible.

Jandroković and Levitte also exchanged opinions about the situation in South Eastern Europe and backed the Union’s further enlargement to all of the countries in the region that met the criteria.
