The collocutors confirmed the very good and friendly relations between the two countries, unburdened by outstanding issues. It was pointed out that the bilateral relations had a promising future, especially through the mutual Mediterranean orientation.

Minister Jandroković informed his Maltese colleague about the Croatian government’s efforts to satisfy the criteria for closing the rest of the negotiation chapters, expressing conviction that the negotiations would be concluded by end-June this year. He thanked Malta for its long-standing support in the European integration process, as well as for transferring the experiences from that area.

Minister Borg said that Malta would continue to support Croatia’s completing the negotiation process as soon as possible, as well as its full-fledged EU membership, pointing out that his country would be one of the first to ratify the Accession Treaty.

Conclusively, Minister Jandroković invited Minister Borg to this year’s Croatia Summit, scheduled for July in Dubrovnik.
