Minister Jandroković informed Minister of State O'Sullivan about the status of Croatia’s accession negotiations, which have entered their final stage. He pointed out the determination of the Croatian government to close them in June this year.

In that regard, the minister thanked Ireland for the continuous support it was lending Croatia along its road to full-fledged EU membership. This support was particularly evident during the Irish EU presidency in the first half of 2004, when Croatia was granted the candidate status.

The meeting also discussed cooperation within international organizations, namely the UN. It was pointed out that Croatia and Ireland share the same principles in multilateralism, and the collocutors agreed on the cooperation and mutual support within multilateral bodies.
