The European Week is a traditional event that involves all of Croatia’s counties and represents the intensification of the EU-related information activities being conducted throughout the year. At various public events such as lectures, conferences, public debates, radio quizzes, as well as performances and art workshops for the youngest, the citizens will be able to get answers to the most frequently asked questions about the EU.

The same answers will be offered via radio and television spots, which will in the basic terms deal with the EU membership topics that the citizens have shown the most interest in, as well as provide answers to the questions about the concrete changes that the membership brings.

The citizens will also be able to ask questions via special cards that they will post in the “EU Mailbox”, set up at the Cvjetni Square today by Minister Jandroković, Head of the EU Delegation Paul Vandoren and Secretary of State for European Integration Andrej Plenković.

At the same location on 7 May 2001, the traditional central celebration of the Europe Day will be held. On the same day in the Bundek lake park, the EU Delegation is organizing an event entitled “The Rhythm of Europe”, with a kids’ program in the afternoon and a youth concert in the evening.

In all of the county seats during the European Week, as well as a series of other cities, lectures will be organized about the possibilities offered by the membership, such as participation in various EU programs, as well as public debates on the accession. Information will also be presented in a fun way through various quizzes, performances and workshops for the youngest, as well as other fun and educational activities. All of this will be covered by the local media. During the week, apart from the 129 Euro-info points across Croatia, publications on Croatia’s EU accession will be available at all the public events in the counties as well.

The European Week program can be found at the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
